Sealants
If you want to prevent bats from flying into a particular area, sealants are a great option. Identify all possible entry points and plug them up as soon as possible. In addition to sealants, you can also use wood and other materials to close any gaps or openings you find. The base of roofs are common entry points for bats into attics. Just keep in mind that bats are small creatures and can get through the tiniest of spaces. With that said, whenever you are in doubt, just plug it up!
Moth Balls
A quick and easy way to address to your bat problem is to go out and purchase mothballs. You can find mothballs at any pest control store. All you need to do is to tie them up into a cloth and hang it whenever they are inhabiting. If you the space has good ventilation, mothballs are usually a very effective means of keeping bats away.
Aerosol Sprays
Another route you can take would be to purchase pest repellent sprays. These are also available in pest control stores. Many of these sprays contain peppers and other irritants to animals like bats that are sensitive to smell. People often use them on wooden furniture to prevent their dogs from chewing. In order for them to remain effective, you need to routinely spray the area.
