For example, roof vents, gable vents, and the gap at the edge of your roof behind the gutter are common entry points squirrels use to find their way into your attic. In most cases, squirrels enter at the roof level of a home.

Did you know that squirrels are most active during the morning and evening? If you happen to hear noises from up above during the day, you likely have a squirrel problem on your hands. Squirrels are extraordinarily quick and light animals. However, they can still be heard from the ground level of a home. If you have squirrels in your attic, you may be able to hear some fast, scurrying-type sounds.
How Do I Address My Squirrel Problem?
The best way to fix your squirrel problem is to physically remove the animals from your home. There are humane cage traps available that should do the trick. Stay clear from repellent products such as sprays, powders, mothballs, or high-pitch noise machines because they are ineffective. In terms of bait, peanut butter or whole peanuts work extremely well. Once you have removed any squirrels from your attic, you will want to prevent this problem from occurring again in the future. Seal all entry points with a material like steel so they can’t chew their way through.
